Yes - here I am
I did read about that "MJ version".
As far as I see it that version is not really hacked, because "hacked" means "the original being manipulated".
That version is a rewritten Trojan with the purpose of collecting user data.
But however you call it - it is definitely a NO-NO to install it.
First of all the plugin version must be the same as the version of the server files. So as long as I do not change the server it does not make ANY sense to install a newer plugin - even if it is verified to be a correct version. So even if you visit the official MJ website and find a newer plugin there - don't bother downloading it.
I always have the plugin corresponding to my server plus the correct configuration file downloadable from my own server.
If a new version is available I check if we need to get it, for instance because of a major bug fix.
If so I download its files directly from the MJ website, not from a link sent to me by any email address (even if it looks like being the MJ author).
After I have adapted the server files to our needs I change the downloadable plugin files on our site.
So in fact you should always download your MJ plugin + configuration from our own MJ server. The current version is 2.2.0.4 and it is working well so no hotfix updates will occur. Until Thor (author of MJ) publishes a major release change with added features we might switch to that version - but until then DO NOT CHANGE anything of your MJ installation.
There is a so called "Trojan Checker" around - again pretending to be sent by the MJ authors. It claims to be able to check and clean your system for the infection done by the "MJ Beta".
DO NOT INSTALL THAT PROGRAM EITHER. It is another Trojan itself.
