Well, actually, I had a bad gum chewing habit, to get over that, the doctor told me to start smoking.
(Ok, so that was an old Rodney Dangerfield line, but it's still funny).

Thank you Jena.
EEK.. time to talk to Neu about quitting smoking. I've cut down to 4 a day from a pack and a half and don't have money to be buying more anyway.
Here's a sad side to the Breast Cancer issue that I've recently become victim of. Something I think needs also to be addressed, besides seeking a cure:
I'm telling something personal here.. but it's important for all to realize. Anyone could find themselves in this position, and I even know some in-game who have, some who can't play too I keep in contact with, who are in same boat.
I can't go for tests.. To be tested, in the states of the USA I am near and in, you need medical insurance. Medical Insurance is hellishly expensive to do it individually. Through work, you have to wait months to qualify, usually 3-6mnths. I was taken out of work on disability a month ago {I got very ill, and am still ill}. Our great govt that cares so much, provides no health insurance for the unemployed or those on disability temporarily... so any man or woman wanting to care about her health this way or any other way is screwed. I am lucky my doctor will see me free of charge {if I can get someone to take me}.. but how many doctors will do that? Also he provides me free medicine from samples. How many doctors will do that too?
I have no money left. I was struggling on a low wage with debts before this happened. I'm still waiting for any financial assistance, and it's been 5wks now. I am having to leave my apartment by the 31st, and can't afford even food. I'm reliant on charity.
{Luckily my gaming accounts were paid until June.. but it's dubious when my phone wiill be cut off and hence my connection}. Now it's legal in the state I worked in to cut benefits from the day you were fired, and legal to fire you if you're taken out on disability, if you didn't work there a year {I was 5wks off}.
In Australia {where I came from}, you are automatically covered once you get Medicare {which is issued pretty immediately}.
Medicare Australia: http://www.mhcs.health.nsw.gov.au/healt ... /5440.html
There 'Medicare' is for all {free and immediate to anyone working or not, or never worked}. Even if you are wealthy you can get Medicare. The only catch there is you have to pay %1 {I think} of your wage to get it,if working or financially independent, and it is public insurance, so you get public care in hospitals {not private}, though most doctors do take Medicare. In Australia, if you are in the position I am, you can walk into any doctor {that takes Medicare- most do} or public hospital free of charge. I hear they have to treat you here too, but only for something serious and life-threatening . They will leave you sitting and waiting for hours. You're not as important. They will also push for health-insurance if it's not life-threatening.
In Australia, you can walk into any welfare office and get emergency assistance within a day. They of-course take all your details, and there is fraud, but that's a jailing offense and people do get caught. I am still wondering why, when this coutry is one of the richest in the world {if not the richest?}, there is such little care for it's people? Australia has half the economy of USA and cares more.
My point here is:
I applaud the efforts to find a cure for breast cancer, and encourage women to get tests!
I think we need some red/white/blue ribbons with the medical emblem on them too. A month of these to encourage Uncle Sam to care about ALL his nephews and nieces!!
You probably wonder why I don't return to Australia? I can't afford to for a start. My life is here {been here 6yrs}, and I love USA. Plus what help would that be to others if I left? Maybe my voice will make a difference. I am going to get citizenship this year. I become eligible for it in August. If enough people speak up, maybe we can make a difference. I hope so.
